Raise Money for Celiac

If there is one thing we are passionate about at Gluten Free Fox, it is spreading awareness of gluten sensitivity and helping others get diagnosed. So when we were contacted in regards to two major upcoming fundraising events, we decided to help spread the word.

If you have an event planned that you would like to promote, please comment below or send us an e-mail. Here are some worthy causes coming up in the next couple of months:

  • Chip in for Celiac Golf Event: After Chris Wheeler’s wife and two young daughters were diagnosed with celiac, he decided to do something about it. To raise money on behalf of the Center for Celiac Research at the University of Maryland (CFCR) and the Greater New Haven Celiac Group, Chris is organizing the first Annual Chip in for Celiac Golf Event. The event will take place on Friday, May 15, 2009 at the Whitney Farms Golf Course, 175 Shelton Rd RT.110, Monroe, CT 06468. Chris is expecting local sports celebrities and welcomes donors, sponsors and participants. You can find out more information by going to and clicking on “Chip in for Celiac,” or contact Chris via e-mail at
  • Eighth Annual International Walk/Run for Celiac: The University of Maryland’s Center for Celiac Research (CFCR) is “Making Tracks for Celiacs” in Baltimore and across the country. Participants, sponsors, volunteers and donors are welcomed to help make this or other CFCR fundraisers in your area a great success. The foremost celiac research center aims to “increase awareness, develop effective treatments and possibly, one day, find a cure.” Visit for updates on this year’s total donations raised for research in the field of gluten sensitivity and to find out how you can help support this worthy cause. The Balitmore event will take place on Sunday, May 3, 2009.
  • Celic Awareness BraceltsCeliac Disease Awareness Bracelets: If you simply want to do just a little bit more to increase awareness about celiac disease and gluten intolerance, why not arm yourself with a CFCR bracelet. Over 45,000 of these cool, green wristbands are already being sported. And every time a bracelet is purchased, proceeds go directly towards celiac research at the University of Maryland’s Center for Celiac Research. To purchase your celiac awareness bracelet go to

Kristen Campbell and her "wonder dog" Waylon are both severely intolerant to gluten. Celiac? Perhaps. But they've never had the endoscopy to tell (human or dog--does that exist?). Fortunately, they found each other! When Kristen isn't busy at work, she loves mixing up natural, gluten-free beauty products under her self titled line, spending time with her favorite "wonder dog" and catching up with friends.
